How to run a Poker Fundraiser
First of all....why?
In our experience, fundraisers through silent auctions and bake sales are pretty standard fare. It's tried and true. But everyone does it, why not go the extra step to make sure you generate more money and have fun? Poker tournaments create an environment where people are sitting down and interacting with each other. They have a stake in the game for one of your charitably donated prizes so they have incentives to stay and contribute more to your charity by strengthening their own chances at winning. You get a competitive social environment, where people are encouraged to continue supporting your cause. Why not?
